The EMD F40PH represents a significant piece of Railroad history, The F40PH was was hailed as “the locomotive that saved Amtrak and tells the story of American passenger railroading in the last few decades. Unfortunately these important historic locomotives are now being scrapped at an ever increasing rate. The F40PH Preservation Society is a organization located in the state of Massachusetts with the goal of preserving railroad history and artifacts, especially those relating to Amtrak’s F40PH locomotives, and to educate the public about these artifacts and historical information through collection, restoration, display, demonstration and interpretation.
